Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No — and any tool that promises that is misleading you. JPG compression permanently discards some image data. Converting to PNG preserves exactly what is in the JPG today (no further loss), but it cannot restore detail that was already lost.
Why is the PNG file bigger than the JPG?
PNG is lossless, so it stores every pixel exactly — that takes more space, especially for photos. A PNG can easily be 3–10× larger than the same image as JPG. Convert when you need lossless editing or compatibility, not to save space.
Why would I convert JPG to PNG at all?

Can this tool add transparency to my JPG?
